Our very own Victoria has begun volunteering for Contact the Elderly, a national charity that helps to tackle loneliness and social isolation amongst older people living in the United Kingdom.
She has worked hard to grow awareness in her local area to get a group off the ground and has finally had enough interest that her first tea party took place yesterday.
She said “It was our first meeting and as such it was only a small group with 3 older guests, 2 drivers and the host but it was absolutely fantastic, and to hear all the guests say how much of a nice time they’d had and how they’re looking forward to next months tea party because of how lonely they’d been feeling recently really makes you realise how important it is to spend time with those around us who don’t necessarily have someone. We all can’t wait for next months tea party!”
